Chunky Paper Bag Album with the Lot -Part 1 of 3

For a long while I had been wanting to own one of those beautiful and intrigue paper bag albums which I had seen over and over in YouTube. At first I could not comprehend how some flimsy lunch bags can transform into the most beautiful scrapbook albums I have ever seen. I went to Search Engine and Google on the topic. I found a tutorial there and from that day on, I don't see paper bags as just some flimsy lunch brown bags but a precious craft item. Part of the reason for it is because the stores here don't sell the square-bottomed lunch paper bags. I had to ask my auntie from United States to bring a pack home while she was here on vacation.
Finally, I was able to rise up and take the challenge of attempting the Paper Bag Album project and the end result is a beautiful scrapbook album I can call my own. There are a lot more to do with it, putting in photographs and writing journals and adding more embellishments as I go along. I can't wait! Keeping memories in beautiful albums is a lifetime keeper. This is my first paper bag album and it sure isn't going to be the last.
I am ever so thankful for those generous and creative crafters who share their album and card designs, ideas, tutorials and time that have inspired me to come up with my own modification of the designs and in return share my creative ideas here. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
I hope this note will be an encouragement to all crafters that if I make a paper bag scrapbook album, so can you :) Hope you'll have as much fun as I have had!

I stamped the row of birds on the beautiful paper to compliment the pattern paper. I also stamp images on die shape cut from Spellbinder.

The Bird Nest is a from a die cut on a pattern paper and corner is distressed with ink.

Chunky Paper Bag Album with the Lot - Part 2 of 3

The cover of the album is made from chipboard. The center flower wreathe is made with layering of tea party doily die-cut, branch and flower die-cut secured together with brads. The large butterfly die-cut is distressed with ink and coated with glitter powder.

This is how chunky the album is.

And plenty of tags for journalizing.

I created a Pop Up Slider card for this page.

Adorable Magnolia Tilda is colored and sitting pretty with the surrounding pop up flowers which are attached to wire.

What is so neat about paper bag album is the opening that is used as a big pocket for larger photos or tags.

The bulkier and bigger items go into the large side pockets.

Pretty in pink, love these pattern papers.

One of my stamp collections from My Favorite Things. The message on the tag is "Once you choose hope, everything is possible."

I'm still learning to take better pictures with my camera. Some of them went vertical instead of the horizontal view that I would want them to be.

Most of the pages hardly need effort to make them stand out as the beautiful pattern papers are best left open.

More than an ordinary Wedding Card. There are just so many things to do with a tri-fold card. It turns an ordinary card into an elegant piece. I reserve all my favorite stickers for cards like this.

A Christmas tri-fold card. What I did with tiny pieces of leftover papers was cut them into shapes of present boxes, stick a die-cut ribbon and they look like gift boxes :) The row of pine trees, snowmen and trains and corner giftbox border are punches from Martha Stewart.

Isn't this Magnolia Tilda adorable! I colored her with Copic. The multi-heart frame was made by stamping framed hearts and then cutting out around the hearts within the frame. The doily border heart is from Martha Stewart.

I love this Magnolia Bubbling Tilda, her flowing hair and the bubbles around her. It's hard to see in here but I had used clear glaze that gives the effect of pop up for the bubbles. I distressed the frame's edges with ink.

I'm amazed with the versatility of Tim Holz Distress Ink. You can color with it or dab the colors with a soft sponge (I used cosmetic sponge wedges) and ink around the edges of the punch out maple leaves. The ink colors blend in beautifully and create a natural look and I love it!

A few months ago I discovered some new craft techniques and the fun started from there. That was part of the reason why I had been "distracted" from blogging..hahaha. I learned how to color with Copic Markers and Tim Holz Distress Ink. I was introduced to new products from Magnolia which carries lovely collection stamps and I haven't stopped making cards out of them since. This one is Magnolia Tilda. She's colored and the bunch of flowers are dubbed with flower soft.

Firstly, I would like to shout out loud "It's good to be back"! Just wanna share some ideas of the cards I have made.
This card project is made with Crafter's Companion Scoreboard. Basically the card is scored and folded with mountain and valley fold and envelopes attached to keep pictures, journals, etc. I made this to remember a Pajama Party.

One of a kind graduation card

I suddenly have this creative idea on turning the box card into a graduation cap. I made some embellishments to go with it. The tassel is made from threads for cross stitch. I used a red one to tie around the "certificate".

The bouquet is made with heart and flower shapes.

Haven't done the inside of the card....it has to be personalized like the wedding box card before giving away.

This is a wonderful card project to make with Crafters Companion Score Boards.

I make and cut out embellishments to decorate the box card.

When the box lid is lifted up, it opens up to layers of decorated panel. This card is exploding with love messages.

This is the most important love definition from the Bible that has been a guideline in my life in all relationships.

This card was an accidental creation. Let me explain, I caught sight of an old used shopping paper bag and was inspired from it to make this card. The cut out girl figure is from the recycled paper bag. Think green, go environmental friendly, even the pictures on the paper bags can be recycled! LOL... I cut out a circle out of a white paper cardstock for the moon, stamped white swirls for background on a red card, punched and colored the orange flowers and plucked a pink sakura from our house decoration and found some Chinese words to go with the card. The Chinese characters are from Jeart die - 1990002 Hui Yi Si Nian.
"Memories" - it brings back fond memories of the good old days when every year, during Mooncake Festival my parents would invite dear grandpa and grandma over for dinner and after that we would sit and chat under the bright moonlit sky and enjoy the mooncakes and biscuits made just for the festival.

For this card, it's an inspirational card with a Greek proverb that says "The heart that loves is always young."

My Never Again List

Let's see, I haven't made a single card in days although I wanted to but just couldn't get down to it. So I just went on with daily chores, watch t.v. a little and nap a lot. My eldest son said this creative-mood-on-hold is called "artist block". That's what happened to me. Sometimes I get the so called artist block for months! L O L ..... Now that I'm back to being creative again I have thought of a personal card with biblical messages that speak to my spiritual soul. Now that's totally uplifting!
I colored and cut out the girl figure, craft punched heart shapes and created roses out of them, stamped wordings and rolled out the heart frame with Jeart 1700027 Heart Shape#2 and tied some beads to the silver string to secure the inside piece of paper to the card.

The card opens up to my Never Again list.

For God so loved me - and the world- that He gave His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to help me live life purposefully and abundantly now and for eternity. Jesus Christ says in Revelation 3:30 "Look! Here I stand at the door and knock. If you hear me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends."

I opened my heart to let Jesus in to live with me and since then life has a whole new meaning in which I understand why God has put me here on earth for His purpose. It's not about me but God and His glory. I'm just so glad that when I follow Jesus Christ, I know the way to live, the truth to believe and a great life to live.

Singing a love song

I'm a die-hard for country love ballads. I wanted the wordings to be Shania Twain's "You're Still The One" but I don't have the stamp for it. However, I've one that says "When I followed my heart, it led right up to you," And opens up to inside card that reads "my love". This makes a great anniversary card...couples STILL gazing into each other's eyes on their anniversary, riding through the ups and downs of marriage years.

A marriage relationship is a life long commitment. Where the heart has led you in the first place, let it continue to draw you back there to the one you have tied the knot with. Happy Anniversary to all married couples out there. God bless your marriage!

Some days I like a bit of challenge to make cards that need some tracing, small-detail-trimming and lots of creative thinking!! I sought out some papers, template with body parts, a rubber stamp "hat" and Jeart 1710007 Baby Articles - pram which I modified to fit the correct height.

The outcome, a card to congratulate new parents on new arrival of their bundle of joy. The imprint on the little outfit reads Baby girl. It's not glued on so I can change to Baby boy outfit to suit the occasion.

I love working with colors. Any color is a beautiful color to me and this card is made with gold colored paper. The standout of this card is the hearts embellished with sequins. It's simple to make, just cut out heart shape and glue sequins and beads over it, mount over foam and cut around with craft scissor with segregated edges. You'll love the embellished heart on cards for various occasion. It's hard to get the right color of the real card in photos and I hope you get the idea.

A dear church friend has requested that I help her make Wedding Invitation cards for her precious daughter's upcoming Big Day. I have never made wedding invitation card and it makes me nervous thinking of making "formal" cards for giving out. However, I love the challenge of making cards for all occasion so I tell myself why not. I've to make more than 20 cards and I get bored easily making too many cards with one design so I might have to come up with a few designs and get inspiration from other cardmakers, books, magazines....

I love lilies for wedding bouquet...did I have lilies for my wedding bouquet?...gotta ask my better half if I did or didn't. It's been over 21 years that we are married and I can't remember the details :( Anyway, the lilies are made from heart shapes, one bigger one for the lillies and one for the bottom part (whatever it's called lol....)

I'm having so much fun with pop ups and stamping that I end up making this card. I cut out the embossed heart/bird from Jeart die to create a frame for message.

Can't see it very well but the bridal dress has silver glitter so this picture doesn't do justice to the real card..LOL...I've also left the inside card blank to fill in messages. I've yet to create a cover for this wedding card.

This weekend is Mother's Day. I'm sure everyone will be busy thinking of something to give to their mom or somewhere to take her to dine out. My mom is a big inspiration for me to make a love card for Mother's day. From young till now she's packed with love for all of us siblings and I've learned something about unconditional love from her.

I wanted a card that describes my mom, a woman of utmost respect, full of love and who loves gardening. That's why I go for layered pop up card so I can stick lots of flowers (all the scraps of flower shape I collected over time) to make it look like a mini garden. Pretty simple to make and I'm glad I still enjoy making cards....

These dies are really wonderful to use. There are a lot of shapes for cut outs with die-cut machine on each pattern die. The one in the middle is Envelope die. After cutting, just fold and slip a tiny note in it. The Sakura Flower die has different sizes of flowers and leaves.

This is a gated card with die cuts of big heart and flowers and letter alphabets all from Sizzix.

Yeap! God made you extra special.

English Trifle

Now you see it, now you don't - that's how I describe the "disorganized mess" in my little craft corner. The craft tools, papers, embellishments, stamps, punches, etc. etc. have been tucked away for the festive holiday. I am good at both messing and cleaning up...lol. It has been a wonderful, delightful and joyful Christmas for me and my family. We had had a small Christmas party with our loved ones, filling our home with merriment, laughter and aroma of home cooked food and great company. My other passion besides craftwork is baking and I love to try out dessert recipes. This Christmas I baked some gingerbread using fresh grounded ginger and Laura Bush's "Governor's Mansion Cowboy Cookies" (search and get recipe from google if interested). I made traditional English trifle and Tiramisu cake for dessert.

It's GREAT to live in a multi-cultural land of Sarawak in the island of Borneo in Malaysia. Right after celebrating Christmas we're preparing for another big and elaborate (auspicious) festival - Chinese New Year! It's the year of the ox come the celebration of spring festival.

Break for holiday season

5 days to Christmas Day and the holiday mood is setting on. When the children were young I would be the one taking out the Christmas tree and getting everyone to take part in decorating the tree with ornaments and lights. I have to admit it, the thought of stacking up the branches and assembling the tree and taking down and packing it back into the box and carefully wrapping the fragile ornaments and lights is deterring me from making the first move to put the tree up. But I am so glad this putting-up-tree tradition in our family (so we can put presents underneath the tree) is embraced by the children and now they are the ones initiating the move. While I appreciate their effort I also enjoy hearing the laughter and cold jokes transpired among the four siblings while I click these precious moments for the family album.

This beautiful Christmas tree has brought us years of family warmth and memories together.

At times like this I have to break away from my addiction of card making and scrapbooking and seriously get down to cleaning up the mess in my little craft corner :D Not a pretty sight, is it!? LOL...
I hope you share the same Christmas sentiment with me - to make time and spend time with family for this is a season to share and give our love and time to our loved ones. This Christmas card is made by stamping images on a white piece of canvas which is really easy to do - ink & stamp. However you need to let the ink dry completely before adhering to cardstock paper. Mine has smudge marks and resulted in a vintage looking card and that's the way I like it :) A quick and easy card to make and looks great, too, as the stamped images on canvas look like cross stitched.

A Christmas card made with stamping on a piece of canvas and papers.

Prepare the papers. The more I create, the better my eyes are trained to find the color coordination that I like. The papers are inked along the edges or punched as border lace.

I stamp and color images on the canvas, embellish with a red star brad and frill the edges. The cut out Sizzix bauble is dressed up too. Messages are stamped on Jeart/ Double Do 1401046-12 Frame# 19 scallop circle. A piece of decorative ribbon is glued onto a strip of paper.

I play around with the arrangement of the cut and stamped and embellished pieces, glue on the buttons and gems.

Christmas is about....

This Christmas card which I had just made exudes a special message. In my younger days Christmas meant shopping for gifts and sending cards to wish my loved ones a happy holiday season. Christmas has a fuller meaning now, to me anyway. Christmas is more than just enjoying an euphoric feelings of a bright and merry holiday season where families gather to have a western meal of roasted meat, red wine and sweet desserts and exchange gifts and partying into the night.

Christmas now reminds me of God's love for me and the world - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 - and it's because of Jesus Christ that I know God's purposes for my life. And that's why I'm celebrating Christmas - Jesus Christ shows me His way, His truth and in Him I live a life full of purposes and a meaningful one as well.

Jesus loves me to death - oh well, He died on the cross to redeem me from my sins - just as I love my family to death. That's why LOVE holds my family together. Christmas reminds me of Christ's love and because He loves me, I too, can love others and learn to forgive with Jesus' strength. Love begins with loving my husband and children unconditionally. My dream for my family is renewed every year especially at Christmas time when FAMILY comes TOGETHER and be together - we teach each other about spending time together, remaining loyal to one another, accepting each others' differences and encouraging each other in our faith. *These peek-a-boo windows are cut outs from Ellison Window Cuts Frame, Rectangle Peek-a-Boo.*

I enjoyed making these tags with an opening sealed with clear plastic book cover. Inside these tag "shaker box" are glittering stars and tiny white foam balls to make it look like Santa is jolly happy, throwing snow in the air! Come back for step by step instructions to make these tags which can also be used as ornaments for Christmas tree some time soon...I need to get back my camera before I can snap the details.

I bought some pretty ribbons in assorted colors and got down to making cards with them. The doll cut out is from Jeart 1701083 - Bride and 1710037 - Dress#4. I wrap pink ribbon around the gown to make a pretty gown. I don't have a daughter but I think sixteen is a really special age for a girl (that's why this is a pretty card) where she's turning into a sweet young lady and really fun to be with, lots of teenage issues to share and guide her with and she'll really appreciate your spending time with her.

Inside of the card. I'm using a phone camera to take pictures of these cards and hope the picture quality is just as good. My camera is sent for repair with faulty flash and I have run out of patience for its return so I've to make do of my husband's handphone camera for the time being.

Wedding

Red gown for a Chinese wedding, that's what I intended the card to signify. But my son says the groom doesn't dress up like a Chinese so it looks like a cross-cultural wedding. My husband thinks it's an Indian wedding, the bridal gown all red and glittering... :) lol...Doesn't matter, does it? After all, we're living in a peaceful, multi-cultural country and I have had lots of fun making the card.

It's my birthday

I woke up on cloud nine yesterday - it was my birthday and the celebration already began at the stroke of midnight when my sons kissed and wished me happy birthday. This is the day that the Lord has made, I shall be glad and rejoice in it - that's what I tell myself every morning no matter which side of the bed I got up on, never on wrong side :) I'm just thankful to God for every new day in my life. Yesterday was a beautiful day to remember because I received birthday greetings from loved ones near and far. My husband threw me a surprise dinner gathering with my family and bestest friends collaborating with him to give me a pleasant shock in my life. I didn't expect my hubby to do things like that for me! All day long I had been thanking God for family and friends and I was bursting with joy to be surrounded by them! It's not really about birthdays but having your loved ones sharing their time with you. And someone like my dearest friend, Josephine to give away a lovely, lovely birthday card -shown above -that she's personally made for me. Thank you God, for loving me so much.

Feeling refreshed after a holiday with my family. I used a tag to make a bird house that opens up to more messages. A bee clip is attached for use as handle to open up the card. Simple to make and a pleasure to give away. Inside card message: May you and your family enjoy years of happy times in your new home.

I love making cards with Heart die shapes, a variety of different heart shapes. I fell in love with this design and I felt I just got to make it for someone special.

Cut squares of same size in white, stamp for background or decorate as you wish. Cut out alphabet letters and color heart shapes as desire.

Use double sticky tape and foam and adhere to the white squares.

Arrange the embellished squares and this is simply a lovely card to make for loved ones.

We Are FAMILY with Puzzle Die Shape

My first try out with making a card with the Puzzle die shape in my collection. The first thought about puzzles is fitting together for completeness. That's what my family dream is about, having each and every one in the family coming together in person whenever possible, thoughts, prayers, phone calls, sms or any means of communication no matter how far apart we are and no matter where the trials of life lead each of us. "Each one of us will be a blessing to the other"....Family ties will be much stronger if we build our family dream on loving each other, having fun together, staying loyal and standing by each other no matter what happens, growing together in learning more of each other's unique character- strength and weakness AND hanging on to the same faith in God who created family in the first place and has all the instructions for a blissfully happy family.

This card is made with cut out from Puzzle die shape and Lace border die shape and alphabet cut out.

I'm suppose to make a birthday card for my son but I can't resist this fabulous design that I came across and I just have to make this card with the Heart and Flower die shapes as shown. The birthday card has to wait. This would make a great anniversary card for my husband except when I showed him the card he said the color is kinda flat or boring. Maybe he prefers red hearts to black ones.....I'll make another one with red hearts and get feedback from him. For me, I love to work with all colors so when I saw this design I fell in love with it right away!

The background is stamped with swirls. The "you n me" tag is cut out from Ellison die shape. the alphabet letters are from Sizzix.

Anniversary Card

I made this card for a dear couple who are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this coming weekend. It's a joy and honor to be invited to celebrate with them their twentieth year into marriage. If you can love someone with the kind of love that the bible teaches in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 it shows you're really committed to a relationship and demonstrating unconditional love to make someone really happy.

Inside the card it reads:

I'm breaking away from traditional red and green theme for Christmas cards. Blue is cool and so are snowflakes and snowman. I used Jeart 1200333 Snowflake and 1300014 Snowman dies shown below. The Oval Scallop Frame is die cuts from Sizzix large die. The hollies are from craft punch. I attached a small orange bead for the nose (maybe a carrot shaped nose will look better). Duckling, dragonfly and ladybug

It's fun to experience with cropping die shape cut outs to form a shape such as this duckling. I don't have Duck die shape so I have to make do with Sizzix balloon shapes for the duck's body, wing and beak(from the end of the balloon). I cut a circle for the duck's head and attach a small black brad for the eye. The dragonfly, ladybug and cattail die cuts are all from Sizzix.

I've been waiting for this day - today when Jo finally broke a fantastic news to me that she has got her blog ready for posting her beautiful handmade cards! I've been waiting for this day to introduce this darling girlfriend of mine cos we're more than just friends who share the passion of making cards and scrapbooking. This card is created to look like patchwork and paper pierced to look like it has been sewn. I embossed a brown paper cardstock before cutting it out with Sizzix tree shape die. I used pattern paper for the leaves. The card, leaves, cow and bag are cut outs from Sizzix die shapes. I treasure all the friends who come into my life at one point or the other and leave a mark of their unique character and personality in my heart - their smile, kind words, genuine concern, wonderful companionship, remarkable Christian faith, etc, etc. I thank God every time I think of each one of them and the friendship we still enjoy even though some are across the miles. Each one of them is indeed One of a Kind, created by God to bring much joy into my life.

Of flowers and hearts

Embossed dies such as this Jeart 3500188 Butterfly#22 make a defined statement of its own. You can leave it as it is or color it or even cut around it for its shape. I embossed the butterfly on tracing/vellum paper and make the concertina (fold to form a fan). Other die shapes used are Jeart 1200691 Bottle#1/Vase.

Embossed hearts - Jeart 3500159 and cut out Jeart 1710008 Hearts#1 make a nice combination for a "love" card. There are a lot of heart shapes in this card, a picture paints a thousand words, so they say. That's why there's no wording here! When I made this I was thinking of my mom - she has the most kind, loving, giving and gentle heart and no amount of words can describe my love for her so the more hearts the better. Other die used here is Jeart 1800007 Border Lace#6.

You Make Me Happy

I used baby blue corrugated cardstock as background. The die shapes are Jeart Dog, Spray and Sunflower. The kite is Accucut die shape.

I find this Dog shape die truly versatile, the body of the dog is turned into a dog's face looking up!

For the face, I snip off the legs and tail. Draw a happy face; use inner cut out of the dog's paw as nose and the small flag in the dog's body as tongue. Color the ears and outline the paws.

These cut butterflies are Jeart Spray die shapes. I color them pink and green and lightly outline with clear gloss.

Pieces of cut outs before assembling. The kite is cut out of foam. The sunflower is made from few daisies and small flowers in the middle.

This card makes a happy card :) The puppy is sniffing the butterflies and fresh summer air in the garden. You can tell by this card that I am in such a joyful mood when experiencing creativeness flowing through me.

I colored the cut outs and put a layer of clear gloss. My son suggested nail vanish for the same glossy effect but I haven't tried that.

D.I.Y. BABY CONGRATS

As with wedding cards I save all the cards received on every birth of our four boys, thankful that we have wonderful loved ones in our lives to share our joy on the arrival of our little gifts from God, our precious children. All new parents would gladly receive cards to welcome their little bundle of joy and celebrate with them.

Pastel colored papers go well with baby cards.

I used Jeart 1701086 balloon#3 die cut.

And Jeart 1710007 baby articles/pram.

Cut out backing, sandwich with foam tape and stick double tape to the back.

Cut out a Jeart 1701104-12 Gift tag for messages, touch up the sides with pink chalk and embellish the tag.

Finished card after assembling. Inside card reads Congratulations.

Different design but using same Jeart Baby Articles (Pram & Bottle) die shapes. The brown background paper is handmade paper. Wet the outline of the shape and slowly tear off to give that fiber effect.

Foam in its thickness gives that raised effect. Easy to adhere with double sticky
Another baby card design -for baby boys :) using Jeart 1301038 Giraffe, 1301035 Pin and 1710007 Baby Articles die shapes.

Color the giraffe, pin and bottle with acrylic or other paints. Cut another for backing. Sandwich with tiny bits of foam tapes and adhere to card.

D.I.Y. WEDDING BLISS

This year, my husband and I will be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. Time flies. We received many wedding cards from friends and relatives near and far to celebrate with us our special "I do" day. Vows made are meant to be kept in good times and bad times, in health and in sickness till death do we part. It's during those "bad" days that I take out all the cards to remind me of that one special day that meant so much to me. My dream came true and surely, other dreams can come true as well and they still do.

This is a pretty simple card to make. Get the papers and cardstock ready. If you have a printer at home you can go to www.papercraftinspirationsmagazine.co.uk for free download of fabulous pattern papers.

Roll out die cuts from Jeart 1401035 Frame#1/Goblet, 1202558 Love #2, Box 3-ornament#1 & 1202555 Flowers #8. I use embossed paper and foam for cut outs as well.

Cut out with Jeart 1401037 Tuxedo die shape and 1710037 Dress#4 and another for backing. The above ribbon is a sample of what I have used, you can pick your own choice of ribbons, they'll look equally pretty.

For the birds, I emboss with Jeart 3600038 Peace & Love embossing die and then cut out the birds. You can also cut out the ribbon for extra decoration.

Roll out the Jeart 1710008 Ring die shape and replace the paper jewelry with clear buttons instead. You can find these buttons at shops that sell tailoring materials.

The tuxedo and gown can be left as they are (refer to my other wedding card) or you can draw out faces and hair and body parts to create a full human figure. I hand drew a veil on tracing/vellum paper.

I use sticky foam for the 3-D look. Cut small pieces of the foam tape and stick all around cut outs. I do it with most of the cut outs.

Wrap the ribbon around the gown to give the gown a full dress look. Secure the back with double sticky tape.

Assemble and decorate the cut outs as you wish.

I arranged mine to look like this.

D.I.Y. FRIENDSHIP CARD

This is a fun and sweet card to make for friends or daughters or daughters-in-law :) to remind them how much they mean to us - they would even sacrifice their time to spend hours upon hours of window shopping with us!

You'll need papers, pattern and cardstock; die cut outs (I use Jeart 10000020-12 Dog# 1, 1701104-12 Gift Tag and 1710028 Square#1/butterfly frame); punches - oval and sakura flower for piggy's nose and feet; ribbon; gem sparkles in tear drop and flower shape (normally used for nail painting- I found these at hair accessories shop); colored pens; foam tape, double sticky tape, white craft glue and pointed toothpick for picking up teeny weeny bits.

Cut out shapes required with roller-cut machine. Optional: draw out shape and cut out.

I use an oval punch for piggy's nose. Optional: Draw an oval shape and cut out.

Sakura flower is excellent for piggy's feet. Outline with dark pen.

Assemble and use foam tape for 3-D effect. Glue gem sparkles onto butterfly, piggy's forehead, etc.

3-D effect. I use pink foam paper for piggy's dottie nose. They're cut out from the eyes of dog's die shape.

After decorating and assembling, glue the finished piece onto cardstock, use glue or double sticky tape.

Finish off with messages and other embellishments of your liking. I add quilled flower and leaves made from strips of colored papers.

D.I.Y. BIRTHDAY CARD WITH JEART SHAPE DIES

There are a couple of Jeart die shapes used to make this card.

Roll and cut out the dog die with different colored papers, depending on what color you want your dog to look like. Refer to blog archive under "Fan of dogs".

Cut outs of dogs.

Cut a backing for the dog body by cutting card paper around the dog shape.

For 3-D effect, cut small pieces of foam tape and stick around the die cut.

Stick backing on.

To give the dog's paw a two-colored tone, cut two pieces of different colors and glue one on top of the other.

Color the flap of the body which is used here for dog's tongue.

The pieces are now ready for assemble. You can play around to find your ideal dog.

Stick tiny foam tapes for 3-D effect.

Stick a backing of different color to give two-color tone.

Cut out the card size with cardstock paper. Cut another of slightly smaller size and glue onto the card.

The finished card with stamped messages.

D.I.Y. CHRISTMAS CARD

Christmas card

You'll need pattern papers (don't have to follow exactly the same pattern here), solid colored paper as contrast (seen here in red), paints (acrylic or watercolor pencils or whatever you prefer to use), double sided sticky tape, foam tape and ribbon (any color). I use acrylic paint here.

Cut pattern papers to the size of the card you prefer. Mine's a rectangular shape.

Fold and crease thick card paper.

Color the cut outs. I use hollies and color the leaves green and berries red.

Make a backing for the pocket. Glue pattern paper over card paper.

Punch a semi circle in the middle of the pocket envelope. You can also draw a semi circle and cut with scissors.

Stick double sticky tape around the edge of pocket envelope to create a pocket.

Cut small pieces of foam tape and stick to embellishments to give the 3-D effect.

Decorate with ribbon.

Cut tiny piece of sticky tape to stick underside of ribbon bow to stick on paper.

Cut out a tag (of any shape you like ) to keep inside the pocket. Decorate as you wish.

I stamped mine with words and decorate with a small ribbon. You can handwrite messages if you don't have rubber stamps.

Finished card looks like this.

I adore this card design. I emboss the paper before cutting out the dress and also add lace at its end..oops, need to re-attach the loose end

I draw out the heart and then use a craft knife to cut out the shape. The background paper is actually gift wrap paper which is economical and comes in lots of designs. I prefer the non glossy papers. The words are alphabet rub-ons.

I'm making cards like this to keep the family's favorite recipes in it. Cut outs are from Jeart dies- 1710034 - apron#1

The flower cart is from Sizzix die. Background paper is sort of like mulberry paper, any paper with lots of fiber will do, just wet around the shape and tear off slowly to give the fiber effect.

The dress is the same die shape used for wedding gown. Jeart 1710034 apron die shape and the rest are from punches. The words are alphabet rub-ons in different font. Versatile in creating personal messages.

I had fun making F1 ferrari caps with Jeart 1200403 Baseball Cap shape die, inspired by my husband's and sons' passion in watching F1....brooom..brooom...eeeeiee..eeeiee...screeeeech sound blasting from t.v. while I enjoy my cards. You know who their team is. The other Jeart dies used here are 10000025-12 bookmark sweet baby & 1710008 Ring/Heart. The stamped message reads: "You're brilliant, marvelous, awesome, amazing and a wonderful friend. Friends forever." Yeap, you know who you are, all you dear friends in my life.
The background has stamped flourishes and enhanced with acrylic paint.

This card was made with cute embellishments attached to it. The lace border was created with Fiskar border punch.

The wedding gown and rings are from Jeart shape dies. I put clear buttons on the rings to look like jewelry. The gown is wrapped in ribbon to turn into wedding gown.
